The 1st International Congress of the Centre for Research in Quality of Life (CIEQV), under the theme “Quality of Life – Research and Innovation”, will take place online on 18 and 19 February.
The President of the Polytechnic Institute of Santarém, Professor João Moutão, will be part of the Congress Honour Committee. The event will feature six international speakers and more than one hundred communications.
The panel will be composed of the following personalities: the Minister of Science, Technology and Higher Education, who will chair the session; the President of the Polytechnic Institute of Santarém; the President of the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria; the President of the Foundation for Science and Technology; the Mayor of Rio Maior; the Director of the School of Sport of Rio Maior; and the Coordinator of CIEQV.
The main objectives of the Congress are to promote synergies between research networks and centres, to support research in the field of quality of life, and to promote community services aimed at improving citizens’ quality of life.
It also aims to intervene socially and politically, at local, national and international levels, in the development, promotion and research of quality of life.
The Congress seeks to promote and disseminate the research developed by the members of LQRC-CIEQV and share it with the scientific community, in the strategic areas of physical activity, nutrition and education.
It also aims to promote the mobility of researchers, enriching their experience and improving their education and training in the field of quality of life.
Further objectives include cooperating within multidisciplinary research teams by sharing projects and equipment, as well as disseminating and publishing the results of scientific and technological research in the field of quality of life.
The organisation of the event is the responsibility of CIEQV, a research centre established as a consortium between the Polytechnic Institutes of Santarém and Leiria, accredited and funded by FCT ([www.cieqv.pt](http://www.cieqv.pt)).
